Brand Building 101: Elevate Your Brand to the Next Level
Building your brand from the NFT community differs from creating a personal brand otherwise. We’ve got expensive jpegs and aliases.
However, despite the anonymous nature of the NFT community, there is an excellent opportunity to stake your flag in the land grab of the current attention economy in Web3.
Here is the best advice I’ve learned so far
Define Your Brand
Create A Playbook
Build Your Network
Modify On The Fly
I’ll break these down for you individually to create some clarity.
1) Define Your Brand
Create a brand slogan.
Create a slogan similar to a presidential campaign motto
”Make America greater again’?
”Bridging the gap to the 21st century”
Mine is “Brick By Brick”
This gives you a general direction and clarity of your mission.
Be intentional about your profile.
Ensure your bio, header and profile photo are intentional and precise. They should all feed into your overall brand message.
Be intentional about what people see when they click on your account. Your content says everything. Be thoughtful! If your profile is 90% engagement farming, growing a meaningful audience will be difficult.
Find your niche
Find your thing, and don’t rush this process. It’s healthy to work on longer time horizons.
I started making only NFT content, then moved toward personal development & content creation, and now, I’m niching down even more into Twitter Spaces content specifically. All three can be a pillar.
To find your niche, start posting content! And give yourself a chance to gauge your and your audience’s interest. Take a month to post consistent content in a particular niche and see how it does and how you feel. If it works, lean in. If not, pivot.
2) Create A Playbook
Define how often you’ll post, how often you’ll reply to comments, and how often you’ll take time to message people.
I post three times per day on Twitter
I host at least 1 Twitter Spaces per day
I spent 20 minutes replying
Figure out a game plan and stick to it. Consistency is the number one thing that separates the successful from the not.
3) Build Your Network
There are plenty of ways to network in the web3 world; from personal experience, my favourite ways have been the following.
Twitter Spaces
Supporting large and small rooms consistently and speaking on stage led to many friendships.Send DMs
Thank people who create content you enjoy; if you see a tweet you think is fantastic, let them know. Acknowledging people’s content is a great way to begin building relationships.Comment & Like
Turn on notifications for accounts you like, leave comments and like their content.
4) Modify On The Fly
Don’t feel like once you’ve landed on a specific brand message, you can’t change it. You’ll change, and inevitably your content will change too. Just know that as your content changes, your audience will as well.
Curious Questions: “What kind of software is best for content creation?”
I create content for this Newsletter, Instagram, YouTube, Spotify & LinkedIn. All at various degrees. 95% of my focus is on Twitter, and I didn’t expand beyond that until recently.
This is important because your tools will differ depending on your focus.
Here are my favourite tools as a content creator
Canva - A free-to-use online graphic design tool. Use it to create social media posts, presentations, posters, videos, logos and more.
Buffr - Manage all of your social accounts from one place. Schedule, analyze and more (I use it to schedule my tweets)
ChatGBT - A model called ChatGPT, which interacts conversationally. (Currently use ChatGBT to help with headlines and titles for Twitter Spaces + rephrasing failed tweets I came up with)
Grammarly - Free writing app to make their online writing clear and effective.
Anchor - Spotify's free podcasting platform—the easiest way to create, distribute, and monetize your show. (upload your podcast to Spotify + All major platforms easily)
Apple Notes - Notetaking app developed by Apple Inc. It is provided on their iOS, iPadOS and macOS operating systems (take notes all day of things that inspire you and reflect on them at a later date for content ideas)
Typefully - Queue your content in seconds · Tweet with daily inspiration · Check the analytics that matter

This book outlines many of the strategies that are now being fleshed out by the NFT community. If only we had read this book, to begin with.
Gary discusses the reply guy method and ways to network. This book is suited for anyone looking to grow their brand utilizing social media. The advice is still very applicable today.
If you want to grow your brand or business, this book should be on your must-read list.
Story Time
Once upon a time, a man named John was determined to build a successful personal brand. John decided to focus on building his brand through a newsletter and Twitter.
John was consistent in his efforts and committed to putting out thoughtful and valuable content. He wrote a weekly newsletter that provided valuable insights and tips on his area of expertise. He always included a call to action, encouraging his readers to engage with him and share their thoughts. On Twitter, John was active and engaged, constantly tweeting valuable content and starting conversations with his followers. He was always willing to learn and push himself.
But despite all his hard work, it seemed like nobody cared. For months, John's newsletter and Twitter account went largely unnoticed. He felt like he was putting in all this effort, but it was going to waste. He started to question whether his actions were worth it and whether he would ever be able to build a successful personal brand.
But John didn't give up. He knew that building a personal brand takes time and patience. He continued to stay consistent and produce thoughtful content, even when it seemed like nobody was paying attention.
Finally, after months of hard work and perseverance, John's efforts began to pay off. His newsletter and Twitter account started gaining traction, and people began to notice. His followers grew, and he started to be recognized as an expert in his field. Slowly but surely, his personal brand began to gain momentum.
John's hard work and consistency had paid off, but it took a long time and was not easy. But he never gave up, and that's what made the difference. He had built a successful personal brand that would continue to grow and evolve for years.
Thoughtful Tweets
Twitter Spaces
Weekly advice to begin and thrive on Twitter spaces.
I wrote this thread a few weeks back; it’s a great starting point if you want to get started on Spaces.
Bonus Tip
Curious if our subject matter is being searched on google or Youtube?
Consider using google trends; I’ve linked the example. I searched “Newsletter” in the YouTube query.
Google Trends - Newsletter Example
This information tells me that people are actively searching for newsletter content on YouTube, and it’s increasing.
If you search “Twitter Spaces” as an example, it’ll show you that that isn’t being explored, so creating content on it probably won’t perform well.
