If you’re reading this newsletter, chances are you’re pretty active on Twitter. Not all, of course, but many. This topic applies to most social platforms; I am writing from experience, which happens to be observed mainly on Twitter.
The Disconnect
There are a lot of narratives on Twitter that differ from those not natively using the platform, especially in mainstream media.
Before you even hit “enter” on google, you can already get a sense of the narrative.
This narrative is pretty different from what you experience while using the platform, as highlighted by Elon Musk in this tweet.
This disconnect exists not only on the state of Twitters well-being but a significant number of global issues.
On Tik-tok and Twitter the discussion of future affects of AI on society, up-coming blockchain technology, news from around the world and other pressing discussions run rampant while mainstream doesn’t mention these.
Where Is The Truth?
I’d be lying If I said I knew where the truth lies, but often the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Living in the grey between both sides will give you the ability to see both sides and gather information.
Gather Many Opinions on Any Given Topic From Both Sides
Focus on Respect
Question Opinions
Get Educated
Be Open To Debate
These actionables are the ways I’ve improved my ability to think independently which has become more rare in recent years.
