Through trial and error, I’ve drawn some conclusions - which are open for interpretation, on growing your account on Twitter.
Each section can be easily broken down into a full-length article. However, to get the ball rolling, let us cover the basics.
Profile
It begins by setting up a clean, easy-to-understand profile. Below you’ll see my own Twitter profile.
People who resonate with inspiration, motivation and education will likely follow me. These are the people I am looking to find. I also have my newsletter and spaces in the bio to give further context about what I am working on.
There are countless profiles on Twitter who’ve done a great job; you can find many now that you’re thinking about purposeful messaging.
Tweets
Think of your tweets not as a tool not to garner engagement but rather as a tool to show the world what you represent.
Your bio piqued their interest, and now they’ll scroll through your tweets to ensure you are a man of your word. Does the bio match the content?
Does my bio match my content? I like to think it does! My ethos is represented by Inspiration, motivation, and education.
The question becomes - how do I get people to my profile?
Commenting
We call it to become a “reply guy,” which means replying to a ton of tweets every day.
I highly encourage you to read this tweet on this exact topic.
Commenting can drive traffic from curious minds to your profile, where they will ultimately decide if they like what they see.
As stated in the thread it is essential to comment on large accounts in your niche so you are attracting a relevant audience.
My posts don’t gain much in terms of organic impressions but my comments go big - leading to my daily growth.
Define Your Brand
These steps have made the assumption you’ve done the work in defining your brand. It’ll be nearly impossible to create clear messaging when you aren’t sure what you are trying to tell the world.
